North Korea’s dictator isn’t a bad guy — he “just wants to be loved,” said former NBA basketball star Dennis Rodman, who vowed to return to the nation on Aug. 1.

The reason for his planned return trip? To “just hang and have some fun” with the dictator, he said, Newsmax reported.

His visit — if North Korea hasn’t unleashed its threatened nuclear attack against South Korea or the United States — would be the second this year, and is largely unscripted, he said.

“We have no plans, really, as far as what we’re going to do over there,” he said, Newsmax quoted.

Mr. Rodman made the remarks during a fundraiser in Miami Beach that was being hosted by a woman who stars on “The Real Housewives of Miami” and her husband, Newsmax reported. At the event, Mr. Rodman was jokingly introduced as “the U.S. Ambassador to North Korea,” Newsmax reported.
