FORT WORTH, TEXAS (AP) - Jeff Gordon usually is eating in these days _ in the infield, that is.

Asked Friday about his favorite place to eat on the NASCAR Sprint Cup circuit, Gordon said he rarely goes out to eat any more while on the road. One exception is a place when they race at Sonoma.

“I’m cooking on the bus. We have chefs that cook for the drivers,” Gordon said. “Between that, if my wife is with me, like she is going to be tonight, sometimes she’ll cook a great Belgian meal. I’ll be honest, I stay put in the infield these days. I don’t really get out that much.”

The noted exception is the Napa Valley place “called Auberge du Soleil that I love. I just love the atmosphere. The food is awesome.”

What about some Kansas City barbeque next week?

That prompted Gordon’s memory.

“We went to Oklahoma Joe’s. That place is awesome,” he said. “We stopped on our way home, and that place was really good. I would definitely go there again.”
