BOGOTA, Colombia (AP) — Colombian authorities say there are no immediate reports of injuries or damage from an earthquake centered deep underground in the country’s southwest. The U.S. Geological Survey placed the magnitude at 7.1.

The USGS said the quake struck Sunday at 11:31 a.m. local time (12:30 p.m. EDT), 30 miles from the regional capital of Popayan. The quake was centered at a depth of 94 miles, the USGS said.

National disaster director Carlos Ivan Marquez said there are no immediate reports of injuries or damage. The regional emergency director, Isabel Hernandez, also reported no damage.
