NEW YORK (AP) - ABC’s “Good Morning America” is celebrating its biggest ratings victory over NBC’s “Today” show in more than 18 years.
The Nielsen Co. says “Good Morning America” averaged 4.97 million viewers last week, compared with 4.09 million who watched “Today.” The ABC morning show, which snapped a 17-year losing streak against “Today” this spring, hasn’t won by that many viewers since August 1994.
“Good Morning America” has won every week since the London Olympics, the last time “Today” had the advantage.
ABC’s big week also came without co-host Robin Roberts, who underwent a bone marrow transplant and is hospitalized.
