Trent Williams walked gingerly onto the field in the second quarter and clearly wasn’t himself. The Washington Redskins’ starting left tackle suffered a right knee injury on just the second offensive play from scrimmage Sunday and missed most of the first half.

He was back for limited action before and after halftime but was a step slow and appeared not to have total confidence in that knee. Early in the third quarter, he was again replaced by backup Jordan Black, who was inadequate in pass coverage during his first stint.

Williams could be seen standing on the sideline after leaving the game for the second time.

Black was playing in his first NFL game since Jan. 2, 2011. He was out of the league last year.

At one point in the second quarter, quarterback Robert Griffin III was sacked on consecutive plays. With Williams out for most of the half, the Redskins managed just 68 yards.
