WOODBRIDGE, Va. — President Barack Obama is seeking to turn the tables on Mitt Romney by dismissing his presidential rival’s claim that he can change Washington from the inside. Obama asked: “What kind of an inside job is he talking about?”

Obama told supporters at a rally in Woodbridge, Va., that Romney would rely on lobbyists and politicians to outsource jobs, curtail gay marriage and limit women’s health care.

Romney on Thursday criticized Obama for declaring, after running as a candidate of change, that he couldn’t change Washington from the inside. Romney said he would change Washington, adding, “We’ll get the job done from the inside.”

Obama said he will rely on the public to create change from the outside by pressuring Congress.

Said Obama: “We don’t want an inside job in Washington.”
