ORLANDO, Fla. — Michael Phelps is teaming up with golf’s funniest man.
The most decorated Olympian will join David Feherty for a special, Ryder Cup-themed edition of “Feherty Live.” The show will air on the Golf Channel on Wednesday, two days before the Ryder Cup begins at Medinah in suburban Chicago.
Phelps, whose 22 Olympic medals are four more than previous record holder Larisa Latynina, says he’s excited to meet Feherty. But the swimmer suspects “my conversation with him won’t be anything like the years of poolside interviews I have done.” Feherty’s glib humor and sharp wit has made him one of golf’s most popular analysts.
Now that he’s retired, golf has become Phelps’ new sport. He’s also signed on to be Hank Haney’s latest pupil in “The Haney Project.”
