Two men were shot in the Congress Heights area of Southeast D.C. Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting was reported around noon in the 3400 block of 13th Place, in a neighborhood two blocks south of the Congress Heights Metro. One man was shot in the leg and the other in the back, Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant said. Both were reportedly conscious and breathing at the scene.

Police described a suspect in the shooting as a black man with a light complexion, seen wearing a red shirt and blue shorts.
