Five people were shot and one man stabbed within 24 hours in the District on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to police.

The latest shooting occurred close to 9 a.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of Stanton Road in Southeast. A woman was grazed by a bullet on the left side of her torso, said Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant. Police are looking for a gunman who fled the area in a dark blue or gray Chevy Impala.

Overnight, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the abdomen. The shooting occurred in the 200 block of 37th Street Southeast around 1:30 a.m. The boy was conscious and breathing when taken to a hospital. Police had no description available of the shooter.

A man was also stabbed overnight in Northeast near North Capitol Street. Police responded to the intersection of Lincoln and R streets in Northeast around 3:45 a.m. Wednesday and found a man who had been stabbed several times in the chest, Officer Gant said. He was conscious and breathing when taken to the hospital.

Three men were also injured in two separate shootings Tuesday afternoon.

One man was shot at 9th and T Streets in Northwest, close to the Shaw Metro, at around 3:35 p.m. About two hours prior, a double shooting was reported in the Washington Highlands neighborhood in Southeast. One man was shot in the leg and the other man was hit in the chest. All three men were conscious and breathing when taken to hospitals.

Police had no updates on the condition of any of the shooting victims or the stabbing victim, but Officer Gant said the department’s homicide unit was not investigating any of the incidents.
