NEW YORK (AP) - The New England Patriots have taken over the top spot in the AP Pro32 power rankings with their convincing victory at Tennessee, while the Green Bay Packers have tumbled to fifth after their home loss to San Francisco.

In the first AP Pro32 regular-season poll, released Tuesday, the 12 media members who regularly cover the NFL have boosted the 49ers to second place and given them one first-place vote. But the Patriots have eight top selections for 378 points, 10 in front of San Francisco.

Baltimore is third with 357 points and two first-place votes, followed by Houston with 336 and one. Green Bay is next at 326.

Making big jumps in the rankings are Washington, up eight spots to No. 16; Tampa Bay, improving from 26th to 19th; Dallas, up six spots to No. 9; and Denver, from 11th to sixth.
