LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles prosecutors have charged a man with trespassing after his weekend arrest at the home of actress-singer Miley Cyrus.
A city attorney’s spokesman says Jason Luis Rivera was charged Monday with two counts of trespassing and one count of resisting arrest.
Rivera was arrested early Saturday after police say he attempted to force his way into Cyrus’ home. Police said at the time that Rivera was carrying a pair of scissors and claimed to be a friend of Cyrus. Police say he repeatedly threw himself against an outside wall as if he was trying to break into Cyrus’ home.
Rivera pleaded not guilty Monday and was ordered held on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court Sept. 17.
