ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — George Zimmerman is considering a defamation lawsuit against NBC over its reports about a phone call he made to dispatchers moments before he fatally shot 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
Zimmerman’s attorney said Thursday that the former neighborhood watch captain has contacted another lawyer about possibly filing a lawsuit.
Each of the reports on either “Today” or NBC’s Miami station involve editing of Zimmerman’s phone call to a dispatcher that emphasizes his identification of Martin as a black male.
Three employees of NBC or the NBC-owned station lost their jobs because of the editing changes.
NBC spokeswoman Megan Kopf says the network isn’t commenting
