EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks won’t play in Sunday’s game against Cleveland because of recurring left foot and knee problems.
Nicks has missed the past two games, and coach Tom Coughlin said Thursday that Nicks won’t be available against the Browns. That complicates New York’s passing game because backup Ramses Barden has a concussion and his status is uncertain.
Safety Antrel Rolle said he won’t be sidelined with a left knee problem. The other starting safety, Kenny Phillips (right knee), is out, and cornerback Corey Webster is playing with a broken right hand. Webster also has a hamstring issue.
Jennings’ groin slow to heal
GREEN BAY, Wis. — Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings is not sounding optimistic about playing Sunday at Indianapolis. Jennings missed practice Wednesday with a groin injury, and says there’s no timetable for his return. He hopes he’s better before Sunday’s game in Indianapolis.
As frustrated as he is by the lingering injury, Jennings knows he can’t rush his return. He’s already missed one game and had to leave last weekend’s game early. Jennings has 12 catches for 17 yards and one touchdown.

STEELERS: Pittsburgh rookie offensive guard David DeCastro’s injured right knee is feeling better, and the first-round pick is optimistic he’ll return this season. DeCastro suffered in grisly fashion during a preseason win over Buffalo on Aug. 25. The Steelers placed him on the injured reserve-recall list, meaning he could be activated during the second half of the year.
JETS: New York tight end Dustin Keller and rookie wide receiver Stephen Hill were among six players who sat out practice with injuries as New York prepares to play undefeated Houston on Monday night. Keller has not played since the season opener because of an injured right hamstring. Hill missed last Sunday’s game against San Francisco with a similar injury.
BROWNS: Cleveland starting safety T.J. Ward is practicing with a broken right thumb and could play Sunday against the New York Giants. It was Ward’s first time back on the field since breaking his thumb last week in a loss at Baltimore.
CARDINALS: Arizona defensive tackle Darnell Dockett started at St. Louis on Thursday night after sitting out last week because of a hamstring injury.
BILLS: Buffalo reserve defensive tackle Spencer Johnson (ankle) was ruled out from playing at San Francisco this weekend after missing his second straight practice.
