Adele has confirmed she has co-written and performed the theme to the upcoming James Bond movie, “Skyfall.”

The singer posted a picture on her Twitter feed Monday of what appears to be the sheet music cover page for the song, credited to Adele — as A. Adkins — and Paul Hepworth, who co-wrote her hit “Rolling in the Deep.”

Rumors have swirled for months that the Grammy-winning British singer had recorded the theme, but there has been no official announcement from producers.

The film, Daniel Craig’s third Bond adventure, opens in Britain on Oct. 26 and in the U.S. on Nov. 9. The cast includes Javier Bardem, Albert Finney, Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris.

The theme to the last Bond film, “Quantum of Solace,” was performed by Jack White and Alicia Keys.

Police void man’s arrest after dispute with Lohan

A 25-year-old man initially arrested Sunday on an assault charge after Lindsay Lohan claimed he grabbed her in her New York hotel room in an argument over cellphone images was freed hours later and his arrest voided when the charge could not be substantiated, law enforcement officials said.

Instead, Christian LaBella of Valley Village, Calif., and Miss Lohan filed harassment complaints with police against each other after they were interviewed by police about their run-in, law enforcement officials said.

Afterward, Lohan publicist Steve Honig expressed outrage that police did not charge Mr. LaBella.

“We think it’s both distressing and outrageous,” he said in a telephone interview. “Lindsay was assaulted and there needs to be a consequence for that.”

Mr. LaBella could not be reached for comment.

Mr. LaBella was arrested about 6 a.m. after a 911 call came from the swank W Hotel in Manhattan’s Union Square where Miss Lohan apparently pulled the fire alarm, the two officials said. The officials were not authorized to speak publicly and spoke to the Associated Press on the condition of anonymity.

A former congressional aide, Mr. LaBella was arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge but released later Sunday. The charge could not be substantiated so the arrest will be voided, the officials said.

The paperwork was being completed on cross-harassment complaints, which are considered a violation, and no other legal action would be taken, the officials said.

Miss Lohan and Mr. LaBella met hours earlier at a nightclub, though it was unclear whether they previously knew each other, the officials said. They went back to her room, when she noticed the cellphone photos of her on his phone and grabbed the device, the officials said.

She claimed Mr. LaBella grabbed her and threw her, but later he said she had forcefully taken his phone, the officials said. Miss Lohan was injured but not hospitalized, Mr. Honig said in a statement.

This is Miss Lohan’s second run-in with law enforcement in as many weeks in New York City. The 26-year-old was accused last week of clipping a pedestrian with her car outside a nightclub and driving away. She was given a ticket and is scheduled to appear in court Oct. 23. Mr. Honig has said he expects those allegations to be proven false.

Aldean apologizes on Twitter for acting ’inappropriately’

Country star Jason Aldean has apologized to fans after pictures of him acting “inappropriately” last week popped up.

Mr. Aldean tweeted Sunday that he wanted to talk to fans directly instead of letting gossip websites tell his story. The tweet came after photos appeared showing Mr. Aldean and former “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr together at a bar on Wednesday in Los Angeles. In one photo, they appear to kiss.

Mr. Aldean said “the truth is I screwed up,” had too much to drink and acted inappropriately at the bar. He noted he left alone and added “ultimately I ended up embarrassing myself and my family.” Mr. Aldean is married with two children. A publicist said there will be no further comment.

The multiplatinum singer will release his fifth album “Night Train” on Oct. 16.

Art Garfunkel a no-show at two Swedish concerts

Swedish concert organizers say Art Garfunkel failed to show up at two scheduled events, flying home to the United States instead.

Organizer Niels Estrup told the Sydsvenskan paper on Sunday that the iconic 1960s pop singer failed to appear at Night of the Proms, a fusion of classical and pop music, in Goteborg on Friday and Malmo on Saturday.

Organizers say they didn’t find Mr. Garfunkel at his hotel, but later learned he had left the country along with his staff.

It is unclear why 70-year-old Mr. Garfunkel skipped the concerts, though organizer Julius Malmstrom told the Sydsvenskan that he had seen the singer in Goteborg on Thursday and said Mr. Garfunkel looked healthy but did not seem confident about his voice.

In 2010, Mr. Garfunkel was diagnosed with vocal cord problems, according to his website.

John Lennon’s drawings exhibited in New York

Fans can see another artistic side of John Lennon in New York City this week.

An exhibition will feature 100 drawings and sketches by the late Beatle. It’s called “Gimme Some Truth: The Artwork of John Lennon.”

The show runs Friday through Oct. 9 at 130 Prince St. in Soho.

It marks what would have been Lennon’s 72nd birthday.

The works cover the years 1964 to 1980, the year Lennon was fatally shot outside his Manhattan apartment building.

The exhibition is being presented by his widow, Yoko Ono, as well as Bag One Arts and Legacy Fine Art and Productions.

A $2 donation is suggested, and the funds will benefit Citymeals-on-Wheels.

Lennon’s art consists of quick sketches and the Oriental technique of sumi ink drawings.
