SAO PAULO (AP) - IndyCar driver Tony Kanaan will ride in two stock car races in Brazil this year, competing against former Formula One driver and fellow Brazilian Rubens Barrichello in one of them.
Kanaan will race in Brasilia on Nov. 11 and in Sao Paulo on Dec. 9. Barrichello, Kanaan’s KV Racing Technology teammate, will race only in the season finale at the Interlagos track in Sao Paulo.
Kanaan will be making his debut in the local series. Like Barrichello, Kanaan will be donating his earnings in Brazil to charity.
Kanaan finished ninth in this year’s IndyCar season and will return to the series next year. Barrichello has yet to announce if he will be back.
