Two men were shot Halloween night in the District – one fatally.

D.C. police identified the man killed as 25-year-old Anthony Weathers of Suitland. He was shot multiple times in an alley in the Eckington neighborhood in Northeast.

No description of the shooter was available.

Mr. Weathers was shot around 9:49 p.m. in the 300 block of V Street Northeast and ran to the 2000 block of 4th Street Northeast were he collapsed, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. He died at the scene.

A second shooting injured an 18-year-old man in Southeast. It happened around 8:53 p.m. in the 2700 block of Naylor Road Southeast.

The man was shot in the neck but conscious and breathing when taken to a hospital, MPD spokeswoman Officer Tisha Gant said. No update was available on his condition.

There was no description available of the suspect in that shooting.

The violence Halloween night was significantly less than the six shootings, including one homicide, that occurred in 2011. On that night, six people were shot in five separate incidents, including a 17-year-old boy who died after he was shot in the midst of Georgetown’s traditional Halloween revelry.
