INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Howie Mandel is helping introduce drivers to the crowd during his first trip to the Indianapolis 500, but he isn’t picking a favorite among them.

Asked his favorite heading into Sunday’s race, the “America’s Got Talent” judge chose french fries and beer. Mandel says he feels like he’s in the midst of the biggest event in the world with the crowd of a couple hundred thousand people around him.

Singer Olivia Newton-John arrived at the speedway with her racing nephew, Emerson Newton-John.

Olivia Newton-John was the grand marshal in Saturday’s 500 Festival parade. That came a day after her nephew drove in the Indy Lights Freedom 100 at the speedway.

She says she hopes to see Emerson racing in the Indy 500 soon.
