D.C. police are investigating two separate overnight stabbings that left two men dead.
The first stabbing was reported at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday in the 1600 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Northeast, in a neighborhood just south of the Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. Officers found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds to the abdomen. The man was identified by the Metropolitan Police Department as Lamont Antonio Devore, 34, of Northeast.
The second stabbing was reported just under an hour later in Northwest south of the Howard University campus. A man was found suffering from a stab wound to the neck in the 500 block of Florida Avenue around 2:15 a.m. for a report of a car accident. Inside the the involved vehicle, officers found a man suffering from a stab wound to the neck. The man was identified as 33-year-old Dwayne Edward Brisbon of Upper Marlboro. He died at Howard University Hospital.
The two killings bring the District’s homicide total up to 28 so far this year, an MPD spokesman said.
On Monday, police made an arrest in another homicide from over the weekend.
Authorities have charged Dietrich Baker, 23, with second-degree murder in the shooting of 22-year-old James Ray Sherrod. Officers found Sherrod suffering from gunshot wounds in the 700 block of Kenilworth Terrace in Northeast around 1:40 p.m. on Saturday.
