The District of Columbia’s Republican presidential primary on April 3 will get national attention, but the city’s Republicans will only benefit if their nominee actually becomes president.

This November, all Republicans must have a single, unifying goal of getting rid of the disaster that is President Obama. Regardless of a voter’s personal likes, dislikes, preferences, prejudices, ideology or any other factors, each voter should vote for the one who has the best chance of defeating Mr. Obama.

Mitt Romney is our best hope for purging America of the current administration. A Washington vote for Mr. Romney is a vote for a winner. Any other vote will be wasted on a loser who will reduce our momentum for removing Mr. Obama from the White House.

Continued Republican division just makes Mr. Obama smile. Being angry is not enough; we must unite in order to win.
