DORAL, FLA. (AP) - Donald Trump is investing more than $200 million into the Doral Golf Resort and says it will be one of the best golf resorts in the world when he’s finished.
Trump said Thursday he will be different from previous owners of the Miami area resort. Instead of looking at it sheerly as an investment, Trump wants to keep the resort for a long time and get his return by making it a destination.
He has hired Gil Hanse, who on Wednesday was named architect of the new Olympic course in Brazil, for a renovation.
Trump hasn’t decided on a name for the course, which has hosted a PGA Tour event since 1962. He says Doral will be part of the name.
