President Obama’s speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee over the weekend showed that he can talk the talk. However, many of us here in the United States and in Israel are skeptical that he will walk the walk when Iranian nuclear push comes to Israeli existential shove.

Call me cantankerous, but it appears that our betters in the Obama administration think that we can deal with a nuclear-bent Iran by minimizing the threat posed until Tehran actually mixes the ingredients to make a radioactive “batter.” Knowing it will not be attacked by America absent a fully baked nuclear “cake,” Iran may stop one step short, but then again, how would we know, and in truth, what difference would it make?

I just hope that Mr. Obama will not join with the rest of the international community to caution Israel against overreacting when a mushroom cloud rises over Tel Aviv.
