OPINION:
Lately, there is much debate about homosexuality and same-sex “marriage.” But Jews, Christians and others who accept the Old Testament as God’s word should already know that those are sins and are not debatable.
It seems the Democratic Party is trying to cast itself as the pro-homosexuality party. This is evident from the legalization of same-sex “marriage” in several states controlled by Democrats. Homosexuality also was recognized on the federal level by the recent killing of the military’s “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy. President Clinton signed that bill into law.
Unfortunately, too many of our elected officials are Democrats pretending to be Christians. No real Christian would go against God’s word, and yet many elected officials who claim to be Christians are doing just that. They no longer believe they will have to pay for their disobedience, apparently.
Why would anyone who professes to follow the Bible vote for a person or party who supports those issues? Yet many Christians strongly support and vote for Democrats, becoming accomplices by empowering the party to make those laws that go against the Bible’s admonitions.
We would do well to remember that there is a Judgment Day when God, not Democrats, will decide where each of us will spend eternity.
