The Washington Redskins aren’t finished with Rex Grossman just yet. The incumbent starting quarterback agreed to a one-year contract Saturday, according to a report by ProFootballTalk.com. The Redskins would not confirm the agreement.
Grossman, who will be 32 on opening day, presumably will compete with the quarterback the Redskins select with the second-overall draft pick.
In 17 games (16 starts) for the Redskins over the last two seasons, Grossman has thrown for 4,035 yards, 23 touchdowns and 24 interceptions. He has completed 57.4 percent of his passes.
Grossman has averaged 1.94 turnovers per game during his Redskins tenure. His propensity to turn the ball over is one reason why the Redskins positioned themselves to draft one of the top quarterback prospects in this year’s draft.
