ST. MICHAELS, Md. (AP) — Tugboats and the crews that operate them are the subject of a new exhibit coming to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels.

Tugboats are an indispensable part of life on the Chesapeake, helping move ships and barges up and down the bay. The exhibit shows the difficult and sometimes dangerous work tugboats perform through images, objects and stories of tugboats and the people who work them.

The exhibit entitled “Push and Pull: Life on Chesapeake Tugboats,” opens April 21 and is scheduled to run through 2014.
