Microsoft is expanding its offer of a discounted Xbox 360 for gamers who sign up for a Live Gold membership to all Best Buy and certain GameStop stores.

The deal is currently only available through Microsoft stores _ there are currently less than 20 stores open in the U.S. Microsoft Corp. says in a blog posting that it will begin offering the promotion at Best Buy and GameStop later this month.

Under the deal, shoppers can buy an Xbox 360 gaming console with the Kinect motion controller for $99 if they sign up for a two-year Live Gold membership at $15 a month.

Xbox 360 owners mainly use the Live service to play multiplayer games such as “Call of Duty” online. Normally, the 4-gigabyte Xbox plus the Kinect costs $300.
