Just a few days after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, comedian Bill Maher said how brave the terrorists were by flying planes into buildings while our military played it safe by only firing missiles from jets at a safe distance. When ABC canceled his show over the overwhelming public outrage, Mr. Maher whined like a baby on national television, saying he was only a comedian.

Recently, we witnessed MSNBC host Chris Hayes tell a U.S. military officer who had the tough job of notifying the families of U.S. military personnel killed in action of the death of their loved ones, that he felt very uncomfortable calling the fallen personnel “heroes.” Mr. Hayes stated that his family members are the real heroes: His father is a community organizer, his mother is with the New York teachers union and his brother registers voters for an offshoot of ACORN.

Somebody should inform these uber-liberals who hate our country that there are a lot of liberal Democrats as well as conservative Republicans who gave their lives for our great country.

This past Memorial Day saw people of all races, colors, religions, creeds and ideologies pay homage to the brave members of the U.S. military and their families who sacrificed so much for each and every one of us. President Obama even made special overtures to our Vietnam veterans on Memorial Day for the treatment they received upon returning home. All Americans who love our country should unite in support of our military.

Bill Maher and Chris Hayes should join Americans in thanking our military for their bravery, courage and service to our country. They are heroes, and we are fortunate to have them protecting our great nation.
