ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Braves have placed Brandon Beachy on the 15-day disabled list with a sore right elbow and recalled Todd Redmond from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Beachy, who leads the major leagues with his 2.00 ERA, will be scheduled for an MRI on his elbow. He left Saturday night’s game against Baltimore in the fourth inning.

Beachy said Sunday he has had bone spurs in the elbow. He said he didn’t feel a pop in the elbow, only soreness, on Saturday night.

Redmond, a right-hander, is with the Braves for Sunday’s game. The 27-year-old Redmond was 6-4 with a 3.20 in 13 starts for Gwinnett. This is his first promotion to the major leagues.
