Claire Danes has some busy months ahead: Not only is her hit TV series “Homeland” returning for its second season in September, but she’s pregnant as well.
Ms. Danes’ representative, Jodi Gottlieb, confirmed the actress is expecting her first child with husband Hugh Dancy.
The news was first reported on People.com.
The 33-year-old Ms. Danes and 37-year-old Mr. Dancy met on the set of the film “Evening” and were married in 2009 in France.
The actress first became famous as a teenager on the television drama “My So-Called Life,” where she won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Emmy. The show was canceled after its first season but developed a cult following.
Mr. Dancy will star in the upcoming NBC series “Hannibal,” adapted from the novel “Red Dragon” by Thomas Harris.
Former ’Big Brother’ players to return for 14th season
“Big Brother” has unveiled 12 of its houseguests for the 14th season and also revealed a new twist.
For the first time, four alumni from the “Big Brother” game will re-enter the house to play their own game and compete for their own unrelated prize. The four returning players and details of their mission will be revealed during Thursday’s 9 p.m. season premiere. Julie Chen returns as host.
In the meantime, CBS has released the identities of the 12 new contestants, who will vie for the $500,000 grand prize. The six men and six women range in age from 21 to 42 and include a chef from Indiana, the former bass player of an all-female metal band, a nurse and an engineering student from New Orleans.
“Big Brother” will air three times a week following the premiere — at 8 p.m. Sundays and Wednesdays, with the live eviction show airing at 9 p.m. Thursdays — beginning July 15.
Jerry Seinfeld preparing new interview series for Web
Jerry Seinfeld is going back on the road.
The comedian announced Thursday that he’ll debut the Web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” on July 19. The interview show will feature Mr. Seinfeld’s comedian friends as guests.
In a teaser video, Mr. Seinfeld is shown driving various vintage cars with Larry David, Ricky Gervais, Michael Richards, Alec Baldwin and others.
The show is presented by Crackle, the digital network owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Recent projects by the 58-year-old Mr. Seinfeld include producing the NBC panel-style reality TV series “The Marriage Ref” and directing Colin Quinn’s Broadway show “Long Story Short.”
’Days of Our Lives’ favorite Eileen Davidson to return
NBC’s “Days of Our Lives” is welcoming back another fan favorite.
Eileen Davidson, who last appeared as Kristen Blake in April 1998, will return to the long-running soap opera.
Ms. Davidson will reprise the character she played from 1993 to 1998 starting Oct. 11. Kristen, the foster daughter of Stefano DiMera, was presumed dead after a body matching her description was found floating in a pool. The real Kristen, however, was left on an island after being sold to a harem.
“I’m thrilled to embark on this new adventure at ’Days’ and excited to revisit Kristen and who knows who else! Not to mention my old friends in the cast and crew,” Ms. Davidson told the Hollywood Reporter, with a nod to the many alter egos she’s taken on over the years on the series.
Ms. Davidson, who had been playing Ashley Abbott on “The Young & the Restless,” becomes the latest “Days” fan favorite to return to the soap, which premiered in 1965. Kristian Alfonso inked a new deal in May to remain in her role as Hope and Charles Shaughnessy and Lisa Rinna also returned to the series this year.
