DALLAS — With training camp just two weeks away, Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant is in trouble again.
The talented wide receiver was arrested Monday after being accused of attacking his mother during an argument, hitting her arms and face. He faces a charge of family violence, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail and a $4,000 fine.
The Cowboys had no comment on the latest stumble by Bryant since the Cowboys drafted him out of Oklahoma State in 2010.
Bryant, 23, surrendered Monday after police in DeSoto, south of Dallas, issued a warrant.
Police said Angela Bryant called 911 Saturday to complain her son was assaulting her.
Police arrived to find her with a swollen wrist and thumb and bruising on her upper arms, police Capt. Ron Smith said.
A standout at Oklahoma State, Bryant caught 45 passes for 561 yards in 12 games in his rookie season. Last year, he had 63 catches for 928 yards and nine touchdowns.
Lynch facing DUI charge
OAKLAND, Calif. — Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested over the weekend in the Oakland area for investigation of DUI, the California Highway Patrol confirmed late Monday.
Lynch, 26, was arrested early Saturday in the city of Emeryville, Officer Peter van Eckhardt said. He was taken to the Santa Rita Jail, where he was cited and later released. Lynch took a chemical test but it wasn’t clear whether that was a blood or breath test, the officer said.
Lynch signed a four-year contract in March that will keep him in a Seattle uniform for the prime of his NFL career. The contract is worth $31 million, including a guaranteed $18 million. Lynch rushed for 1,204 yards and 12 touchdowns last season.

STEELERS: Pittsburghs re-signed veteran offensive tackle Max Starks, 30, to a one-year deal. Starks has started 79 games over eight seasons, all with the Steelers. He was cut before the 2011 season because of salary cap reasons but returned to the club in October and started 11 games at left tackle.
BROWNS: Cleveland signed rookie wide receiver Josh Gordon to a four-year, $5.3 million contract, inlcuding $3.8 million guaranteed. The Browns selected Gordon last week in the second round of the NFL’s supplemental draft. The team forfeited a second-round pick in 2013 to get Gordon, who was dismissed at Baylor after testing positive for marijuana after his sophomore season.
