House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi in an interview on CNN said she supports the anti-Congress theme President Obama is sounding in his re-election campaign.
“I think that the president — and for the good of the country, forget Democrats, Republicans — for the good of the country, I think it’s really important for the president to make the race that he is running against a do-nothing Congress,” the former House speaker said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union.”
Mrs. Pelosi, of California, said the president’s criticism was intended for the Republican leadership of Congress, and she said the frustration directed at Congress is deserved.
“Our races are about the House of Representatives, one district at a time. We think we’re in good shape,” she said. “We want the president to run the race that is important for the country, and this do-nothing Congress must be defeated.”
