LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Struggle to get a gun part of larger problem

OPINION:

Emily Miller’s fascinating account of bureaucratic attempts at marginalizing Americans’ civil rights is a true microcosm of Washington politics at both the city and federal levels (“Why I still haven’t bought a gun in D.C.,” Web, Tuesday).

I suppose one can take cold comfort in the realization that a local government can be just as dysfunctional as our national one. Those of us who aren’t condemned to live in the city are only subject to one heap of we-know-what’s-best-for-you troglodytes.

Thank goodness - at least the state government has managed, mostly, to live up to George Washington’s promise.
