ORLANDO, FLA. (AP) - Kevin Durant is one of the NBA’s biggest stars, whether he ranks himself in that class or not. Now, he has an MVP trophy that proves it.

Durant received his first All-Star game MVP award Sunday night after leading the West to a 152-149 victory over the East.

The Oklahoma City Thunder forward scored 36 points and grabbed seven rebounds to help the West build a 21-point cushion before withstanding a late charge by LeBron James and the East.

Durant said afterward that being an All-Star MVP was something he dreamed about as a kid and he was happy to share the experience with Thunder coach Scott Brooks and teammate Russell Westbrook.
