Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened early Tuesday in Southeast D.C.

Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the 300 block of 50th Street Southeast for a report of gunshots close to 1 a.m. They located 21-year-old Lamar Marquel Walker, suffering from multiple gunshots, just a few blocks away. Mr. Walker was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Police said the shooting happened in the 4900 block of Call Place.

No further information was available Tuesday about any possible suspects or motive in the shooting.
