The Obama administration’s Iran policy is similar to that of the proverbial ostrich with its head in the sand, hoping that the problem will go away (“On Obama’s watch,” Commentary, Tuesday).

Diplomacy has been tried numerous times without success and sanctions that have been levied will be ineffective without the cooperation of China, Russia and other nations that trade with Iran.

Frank Gaffney is right when he states it is not only Israel that is under the gun with the approaching success of Iran in creating a nuclear weapon, but also the United States, with easy access by sea from Iranian vessels and Iranian land bases in Latin America.

Time is of the essence. If we don’t move soon, our failure to react militarily will go down as one of the greatest blunders of the 21st century.
