Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada Democrat, is frustrated because senators want to add amendments to the bill that would expose any insider trading by legislators (“Stock Act passage stalled by amendments,” Economy, Tuesday). Ironically, Mr. Reid has no problem with his own refusal to bring to the floor any of the 25 bills passed by the House to improve the economy.

He won’t bring them to the floor for fear they would pass in the Democratic-controlled Senate. This would force President Obama to sign the bills or veto them.

Additionally, the Senate hasn’t passed a budget in more than 1,000 days. Mr. Reid has no standing to complain or be frustrated about anything. As currently constituted, the U.S. Senate is an abject failure, thanks to Mr. Reid himself.
