A man was shot in the chest Wednesday night in Southeast D.C. near Southern Avenue, according to police.
Officers responded to the 4600 block of Livingston Road Southeast around 9:30 p.m. and found a man on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound, a Metropolitan Police Department spokesman said. The man told police that he was approached and shot by another man while standing outdoors.
The shooting victim was taken to a local hospital and was in stable condition Thursday, police said.
Police had only a vague description of the shooter and had made no arrests in the case as of Thursday.
