FORT STEWART, Ga. (AP) — President Barack Obama is telling military service members and their families that schools seeking to take advantage of them only “care about the cash.”
The president and first lady Michelle Obama are speaking at Fort Stewart in Georgia. The president is signing an executive order Friday to address growing complaints about fraudulent marketing and recruiting practices aimed at military families eligible for aid under the GI Bill.
Obama says it is “appalling” and “disgraceful” that educational institutions would target veterans just to make money.
More broadly, Obama is telling veterans and service members that America will fight for them, just as they fought for their country.
