The National Organization for Women (NOW) predictably defended Democratic strategist Hilary Rosen’s comments that insulted Ann Romney and myriad other stay-at-home moms, thus proving that to the group, conservative women, faith and family are the enemy (“Left just doesn’t get what moms really want,” Web, Sunday).

Where was NOW when Bill Maher directed degrading, despicable words at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin? Answer: It was silent because Mr. Maher backs its agenda. This just proves that NOW doesn’t treat all women equally. The bottom line for NOW is that to be a “real” woman - and thus, deserving of its defense - you must be pro-abortion. The left claims there is a “war on women.” But Mother Teresa made it clear at whom the real war is directed when she said, “But I feel the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. … By abortion, the mother does not learn to love, but kills even her own child to solve her problems.”

For many of today’s “feminists,” the child has become an enemy rather than a gift from God. Whom do we believe on this issue, NOW or blessed Mother Teresa? I side with a future saint.
