LONDON (AP) - Ewan McGregor and Emily Blunt are the headliners for the European premiere of the romantic comedy-drama “Salmon Fishing in the Yemen.”
The two stars were walking the red carpet outside London’s Odeon Kensington on Tuesday night.
Adapted from Paul Torday’s acclaimed novel of the same name, the film by Swedish director Lasse Hallstrom tells the story of a rich sheik, played by Amr Waked, who dreams of bringing the sport of fly fishing to his desert country.
McGregor plays a cynical fisheries expert who begrudgingly accepts the challenge.
He eventually casts off his sardonic ways and falls in love with the project as well as with the Sheik’s representative, played by Blunt.
“Salmon Fishing in the Yemen” opens in the U.K. on April 20.
