NEW YORK (AP) - Connecticut’s Tina Charles lost her triple-double on Wednesday when the WNBA determined she incorrectly received three assists in a game against Indiana last week.
Charles had 10 points and 16 rebounds in the Sun’s win against Indiana last Friday night, and was believed to have finished with 10 assists that gave her the fifth triple-double in league history.
However, the WNBA reviewed the game and discovered the errors, all in the second quarter. She was given assists on baskets by Kalana Greene and Danielle McCray around the midpoint of the period that should have been credited to teammate Renee Montgomery, and a basket later by Kara Lawson should have been scored as unassisted.
