MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - As Rick Adelman prepares to take on perhaps the biggest challenge of his coaching career, he says communication with Minnesota Timberwolves executive David Kahn will be paramount.
The Timberwolves introduced Adelman as their coach Wednesday, two weeks after coming to agreement with him.
Adelman and Kahn know each other from their days in Portland when Adelman coached the Blazers and Kahn was a sports writer at The Oregonian. Both say they expect that familiarity to serve them well as they work on a team that has won 32 games over the past two seasons.
Kahn says talking basketball with Adelman has always been easy. He also acknowledged that communication was an issue with former coach Kurt Rambis.
