NEW YORK (AP) - Current TV says it’s bringing Cenk Uygur to its prime-time lineup.

The former MSNBC commentator will join Current with an hour-long weeknight broadcast to precede Keith Olbermann’s program, network chairman Al Gore tweeted Tuesday.

Uygur’s progressive and topical commentary about politics and pop culture will air each weeknight at 7 p.m. Eastern, Gore said.

Gore did not specify when Uygur would begin his new program.

Olbermann, who left MSNBC in January, soon afterward joined Current, where his program, “Countdown,” premiered in June as the planned centerpiece of a full night of talk programing.
