Singer Pat Boone insists Obama was born in Kenya

President Barack Obama may have released his birth certificate this spring to debunk rumors that he was born outside the United States, but old-school crooner Pat Boone maintains that our nation’s leader was born in Africa and has shown the world “a Photoshopped fraud.”

Speaking to the San Francisco Chronicle, the Beverly Hills tea-party member said he has met Kenyans who claim Mr. Obama was born in their country.

“I was in Kenya a year and a half ago, and everybody said, ’You know, he was born here,’ ” Mr. Boone told the Northern California-based publication at a California GOP event last week.

“Why else would he be hiding all of his records? He’s spending millions of dollars so that we do not have his records,” Mr. Boone said. “And experts have already looked at and been able to verify that this long-form document is a fraud. … But the media ignores it. … A total fraud. A Photoshopped fraud.”

Earlier this year, Mr. Obama made his birth records public, following billionaire Donald Trump’s insistence that the president release the documents to refute so-called “birthers” who accuse the president of being foreign-born.

The “Celebrity Apprentice” host took credit when copies of Mr. Obama’s birth certificate hit the Internet.

“Today I’m very proud of myself, because I’ve accomplished something that no one else has been able to accomplish,” Mr. Trump said at a news conference after the White House announced it would release the certificate this past spring. “I want to look at it, but I hope it’s true. … But he should have done it a long time ago.”

’2 Broke Girls’ actress identifies with character

Actress Kat Dennings may not be too different from her character in the new CBS comedy “2 Broke Girls,” which follows the lives of two struggling waitresses.

“Actors make less than you think,” the 25-year-old recently told the Yahoo! blog omg! “Everyone thinks because you’re an actress you make a million dollars a day - and you just don’t.”

The brunette actress said she makes simple purchases and sports her old wardrobe.

“I buy food and gasoline - that’s it. I’m still wearing Target and hand-me-downs,” Miss Dennings said.

The Pennsylvania native, who played a feisty high school girl in the box-office hit “The 40 Year Old Virgin,” said she only recently had the option of having her own place to live.

“Only recently was I able to live without a roommate,” Miss Dennings continued. “I’ve never been in jeopardy, but being an actor is a pretty shady place to be because you never know where your next job is.”

Miss Dennings, who also had a supporting role in “Thor,” said actors are only as strong as their latest movie parts.

“It’s like being a Gypsy,” she said. “You wrap a film, and then you might not get another one for another year and a half. You just have to be careful because you never know, so I’m very practical with money.”

“2 Broke Girls” airs Mondays on CBS.

Seller on eBay offers Cage-as-vampire theory

Step aside, Edward Cullen. “Ghost Rider” star Nicolas Cage may very well be the hottest vampire around.

An eBay seller recently offered a Civil War-era photo of a man who bears an uncanny resemblance to the (supposedly) 47-year-old Californian, leading the photo’s owner to write in his auction listing that Mr. Cage has roamed the earth for hundreds of years as a vampire.

The eBay item read: “Original c. 1870 carte de visite showing a man who looks exactly like Nick Cage. Personally, I believe it’s him and that he is some sort of walking undead/vampire, et cetera, who quickens/reinvents himself once every 75 years or so. 150 years from now, he might be a politician, the leader of a cult, or a talk-show host.”

The snapshot, the poster said, “is not a trick photo of any kind and has not been manipulated in Photoshop or any other graphics program.”

We would hope it wasn’t doctored, considering the seller reportedly was looking for a $1 million bidder before eBay (or perhaps the photo’s owner) canceled the online auction.

The man in the photo, the eBay lister said, lived in Bristol, Tenn., around the Civil War period and was photographed by a Confederate Civil War prisoner of war. He said he discovered the photo in the back of an album that contained several Civil War death portraits, all of which were identified by name - except this one.

Although the concept of vampires recently has been reserved for the likes of the “Twilight” series or HBO’s “True Blood,” the Yahoo! blog omg! pointed out in a video post that Mr. Cage, who has been acting since the early 1980s, hasn’t changed much in appearance over the years. His timeless look puts him in vampire territory, as the undead creatures never grow old. Either that or he ages well.
