PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Eagles quarterback Vince Young has a hamstring strain, and is considered day to day.
Young was injured in Thursday’s 24-14 win over the New York Jets at the Meadowlands. The backup to Michael Vick who signed with Philadelphia after the lockout ended, Young may be limited when practice picks up on Monday.
That said, no one seems all that concerned.
“I think he’ll be OK,” Eagles coach Andy Reid said on Thursday, after the win.
Should that not be the case, Reid would turn to second-year quarterback Mike Kafka to be the No. 2. Kafka, from Northwestern, was 34-of-49 in four preseason games, totaling 369 yards, with two touchdowns and as many interceptions.
“I’m just very comfortable with him,” Reid said. “He’s had a good preseason, and so I have enough trust there.”
The Eagles open Sept. 11 at St. Louis.
