50 Cent’s lips are sealed on 2012 endorsement

The 36-year-old rapper recently told the Wall Street Journal that he was undecided on whom to endorse for president in 2012 because he didn’t want to speak too soon and see his pick lose in the primary race, as he did in 2008.
“I don’t want to endorse a presidential candidate yet,” 50 Cent told the newspaper. “Last time, I spoke way too soon, and I endorsed Hillary [Rodham Clinton].”
During the previous election cycle, the hip-hop sensation pushed for Mrs. Clinton, expressing doubt that the country could accept a black president.
“I’m not sure America is ready to have a black president. I think they might kill him,” 50 Cent said at the time. “You’ve got to be conscious of racism, period. … And it’s still there. We don’t deal with it as often as my grandparents did. My grandparents grew up in South Carolina, so they experienced the heart of that.”
Fox News host Bill O’Reilly said 50 Cent was making a “pinhead comment.”
In March 2008, 50 Cent abandoned Mrs. Clinton and threw his support to Barack Obama.
“I heard Obama speak,” 50 Cent said at the time. “He hit me with that he-just-got-done-watching-’Malcolm-X,’ and I swear to God, I’m like, ’Yo, Obama.’ I’m Obama to the end now, baby.”
Though he sent the warm fuzzies to Mr. Obama, 50 Cent confessed that he wasn’t certain he would support either candidate or keep up with the 2008 Democratic race.
“To be honest, I haven’t been following that anymore. I lost my interest,” 50 Cent said. “I listened to some of the debates and things that they were saying, and I just got lost in everything that was going on. … Don’t look for my vote, for me to determine nothing on that. Just say, ’50 Cent, he don’t know, so don’t ask Fiddy.’”
Ryan Gosling laments the ones who got away
It’s nearly impossible to forget about the one - or in the case of actor Ryan Gosling, the two - who got away.
The star of “Drive” says “two of the greatest girlfriends of all time” slipped through his fingers.
The Canadian actor recently told U.K.-based newspaper the Times that he hasn’t encountered anyone who can compare to former flames Rachel McAdams and Academy Award winner Sandra Bullock.
“I had two of the greatest girlfriends of all time. I haven’t met anybody who could top them,” the 30-year-old said.
Mr. Gosling co-starred with Miss Bullock in the 2002 thriller “Murder By Numbers.” Miss Bullock, who is 16 years Mr. Gosling’s senior, dated the actor for two years.
In 2004, Mr. Gosling portrayed Miss McAdams’s big love in “The Notebook,” which became an instant classic and reveals the chemistry between the two celebrities. They were born in the same hospital but met on the set of “The Notebook” and started dating a year after the film’s release. They split in 2008.
Mr. Gosling credited the popular drama for bringing him to Miss McAdams, but told GQ in 2007 that his relationship with the “Morning Glory” actress was even more romantic than that of their characters in “The Notebook.”
“I mean, God bless ’The Notebook,’ it introduced me to one of the great loves of my life,” Mr. Gosling said. “But, people do Rachel and me a disservice by assuming we were anything like the people in that movie. Rachel and my love story is a hell of a lot more romantic than that.”
This month, Mr. Gosling was spotted kissing and holding hands with “Hitch” star Eva Mendes at Disneyland.
Speaking to the Times, Mr. Gosling said Hollywood could be blamed for the crumbling of his relationships.
“Show business is the bad guy,” Mr. Gosling said. “When both people are in show business it’s too much show business. It takes all of the light, so nothing else can grow.”
’Heroes’ star honored with her own day in D.C.
D.C. Mayor Vincent C. Gray declared Friday “Hayden Panettiere Day” in honor of the former child star and “Heroes” actress.
In his official proclamation, Mr. Gray declared that Miss Panettiere had “proven not only her acting chops, but also her commitment to the cause of full democracy for the people of the District of Columbia.”
Miss Panettiere spoke Friday evening at an event hosted by the D.C. Statehood Fund, an organization advocating that the District be admitted as the 51st U.S. state.
In 2008, Miss Panettiere attended the Democratic National Convention in Denver as a guest of the same organization.
