Snooki: I’m just flaunting what the Almighty gave me
“Jersey Shore” star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi has a message for priests who don’t wish to see her chest: I’m just flaunting what the Almighty gave me.
In a preview from Thursday’s episode of “Jersey Shore,” an Italian priest takes offense when the pint-sized celebrity strolls by an Italian church in a tiny skirt and low-cut tank top, which reveals her voluptuous breasts.
The 23-year-old tells the man of God to “shut up” after he asks her to “cover [her] body” in front of the church.
“The priest was like, ’Cover up when you come to my church,’ ” Snooki said. “Or, he basically just called me a whore.” Apparently, the “Shore Thing” author’s chosen house of worship has a much more lenient dress code.
“In my church they’d be like, ’Oh, nice outfit,’ ” the Oompa Loompa said.
This summer “Jersey Shore” was taped in Florence to acknowledge the cast’s Italian heritage. Though Snooki undoubtedly enjoyed the country’s heavenly food, she said last month that Italy could benefit from change.
“They need to get stronger tanning beds and have a gym on every block,” shetold the Huffington Post in August. “And they need more nail salons with Chinese people running them.”
Foo Fighters’ frontman has no interest in ’Glee’
Foo Fighters rocker Dave Grohl reiterated his lack of interest in participating in the musical TV series “Glee” during a Wednesday “Chelsea Lately” appearance.
Speaking to host Chelsea Handler, Mr. Grohl addressed the conflict he encountered this year when he said it’s “every band’s right … [not to] have to do … ’Glee’ ” or give the teen program permission to perform his songs.
“I read somewhere that the creator of ’Glee,’ who I never met - and I’ve really only watched three minutes of the show, I don’t really watch TV - I read something where he was kind of mouthing off about some friends of mine in rock bands,” Mr. Grohl told Miss Handler. “And I just felt like, you know, as a musician, you should be able to say no, should be able to say, ’I don’t want to do your show,’ you should be able to say, ’I don’t want to do anything that anyone tells me to do.’ ” Mr. Grohl, who defended the band Kings of Leon for opting not to have its music played on “Glee” this year, referenced his March comments about seeing no reason to let the TV show cover his tunes.
“I was doing an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. I didn’t realize it was some TV Hollywood thing. … Why should you have to do it?’ ” Mr. Grohl told Miss Handler. “Why is that necessary for you to have to do, as a rock musician, why should you have to say, ’OK, Glee, take my song and turn it into a … musical’?”
In January, “Glee” creator Ryan Murphy lashed out at Kings of Leon for denying the show rights to perform its songs.
“They’re self-centered, … and they missed the big picture,” Mr. Murphy told the Hollywood Reporter “They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It’s like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of ’Glee’ all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music.”
Mr. Grohl’s response fired back through the Hollywood Reporter, “The Glee guy, what a … jerk. … [I]t’s just like, Dude, maybe not everyone loves ’Glee.’ Me included.”
’Friends With Benefits’ star loves President Obama
“Entourage” heartthrob Adrian Grenier and “Great Gatsby” actor Robert Redford may be fed up with President Obama, but “Friends With Benefits” star Mila Kunis loves “Barry” no matter what.
In an interview with the United Kingdom’s Stylist magazine, Miss Kunis spoke highly of the U.S. president, whose approval ratings among American voters continue to tank.
“I love Barack Obama, I voted for him and I will forever be proud of my vote,” the 28-year-old Ukrainian told the publication.
On the president’s handling of the debt crisis, Miss Kunis said, “I know that [Mr. Obama] tried. I know because you keep reading these reports of him trying to compromise with the Tea Party and the Republican Party and trying to come to a 50/50 agreement. I don’t think it was one.” Miss Kunis went on to argue that the Democrats made compromises, unlike the GOP.
“I feel the Democratic Party compromised everything and the Republican Party compromised pretty much nothing,” Miss Kunis added.
The “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” actress disparaged youths for not reading books or newspapers or following the news in general.
“So obviously you are incredibly ill-informed to the point where they will go do these tests in Middle America. … And they’ll ask, ’OK, what party are you?’ And they’ll say, ’Republican.’ ’Why?’ And they can’t even tell you,” Miss Kunis said. “They have no idea what the Republican Party stands for.” Miss Kunis, on the other hand, can explain why she supported Mr. Obama.
“Why did I vote for Obama? I can tell you why I voted for him, what I agreed and disagreed with him on, for hours,” Miss Kunis said.
The “Black Swan” actress could use her celebrity to spread the Obama love, but that doesn’t mean the president is popular among the majority of voters. According to Resurgent’s latest poll, 7 percent of independent voters view Mr. Obama as a much stronger leader than they anticipated, while 36 percent rated him as much weaker. According to a recent Quinnipiac poll, 42 percent of registered voters approve of the way Mr. Obama is doing his job, while 52 percent disapprove.
