GENEVA (AP) - The heads of three major physics labs say they’re skeptical a subatomic particle traveled faster than the speed of light.

European scientists said two weeks ago they clocked a neutrino going faster than Einstein’s cosmic speed limit.

There’s a strong possibility the neutrino research won’t hold up, agreed Rolf Heuer of CERN in Geneva, Pier Oddone of Fermilab in the U.S. and Atsuto Suzuki of KEK in Japan.

Oddone says “I’m a complete skeptic” and Suzuki says that “I’m also very skeptical. I’m expecting it will not be true.”
