OPINION:
In 2005, Apple founder Steve Jobs told the graduating students at Stanford University that the secret that defined every action, every decision, every creation of his life was the belief that one should “not be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people’s thinking.” This is not visionary, but rather shortsighted and narcissistic. It fails to honor the debt we all owe to those who went before us, laying the groundwork for progress, challenging us with their magnificent ideas and achievements.
Indeed, the rejection of dogma has led to moral relativism and the demise of Western civilization. Ultimately, the great achievements of technology are liberating and contribute to the progress of mankind only if they are joined to the attitudes of purity, honesty and faith in God.
