HOUSTON — Texans defensive end Mario Williams is out for the season after tearing a pectoral muscle in Houston’s 25-20 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.
Williams appeared to be hurt while sacking Jason Campbell with about five minutes left in the first quarter.
Williams, the top overall pick in the 2006 draft, moved from defensive end to outside linebacker this season in a new 3-4 alignment. He had five sacks and a forced fumble before the injury.
49ers’ Morgan out indefinitely with broken leg
SANTA CLARA, CALIF. — San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Joshua Morgan will miss significant time with a broken bone in his lower right leg that requires surgery.
Coach Jim Harbaugh said Monday that Morgan was scheduled for a “procedure.” He was injured late in the fourth quarter of San Francisco’s 48-3 victory against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. Morgan finished with five catches in the game.
Rodgers, Packers maintan mastery over Falcons
ATLANTA — Following up on a blowout of the Atalnta Falcons in last year’s playoffs, Aaron Rodgers threw for 396 yards and a pair of touchdowns to rally the undefeated Green Bay Packers on Sunday night.
The Falcons (2-3) raced to a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, scoring on their first two possessions.
The Packers (5-0) settled for three field goals by Mason Crosby, closing to 14-9 before Rodgers got rolling.

• BRONCOS: Denver coach John Fox is going to wait a day to announce his starting quarterback. He gave his players the day off Monday and didn’t want to let everyone else know before Tim Tebow or Kyle Orton finds out.
Tebow replaced Orton and energized the Broncos and their fans before coming up short in a 29-24 loss to San Diego on Sunday. Tebow threw for a touchdown and ran for another in nearly erasing a 16-point fourth-quarter deficit.
• RAIDERS: Rookie quarterback Terrelle Pryor completed his five-game suspension and is eligible to practice with Oakland. Pryor left Ohio State instead of serving a five-game ban after being involved in a cash-for-memorablia scandal that has put the Buckeyes under NCAA investigation. The NFL ordered him to sit out five games - the equivalent of the NCAA suspension.
• BILLS: Buffalo receiver Donald Jones will miss four to six weeks with a sprained left ankle, and starting defensive tackle Kyle Williams (ankle) is uncertain if he’ll play at the New York Giants this Sunday. Jones is fourth on the team with 174 yards receiving.
• BROWNS: Cleveland defensive lineman Marcus Benard broke his arm in a motorcycle accident shortly after leaving the team’s first practice following their bye week. Benard will likely miss significant time and may have to go on injured reserve. But it appears he avoided a more serious injury after crashing near Interstate-71.
• CARDINALS: Arizona safety Kerry Rhodes has a broken bone in his left foot and will be sidelined for several weeks. The injury is not season-ending, but surgery may be required. Rashad Johnson will move into Rhodes’ free safety spot.
• VIKINGS: The day after Bernard Berrian was a healthy scratch for the first time in his career, Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier said the wide receiver will be back in the rotation this week. Berrian was on the inactive list Sunday for an unspecificed disciplinary reason.
• RAMS: St. Louis signed cornerback Brian Jackson and wide receiver Nick Miller, addressing two positions hit by injuries. The Rams placed cornerback Bradley Fletcher (knee) and wide receiver Danny Amendola (elbow) on injured reserve last week.
