As a retiree on Social Security, it’s tiresome year in and year out to listen to all the hyperbole by people on Capitol Hill and seniors organizations.

The fact is there is no real cash in the Social Security trust fund, only IOUs, the cash having been spent by both parties in Congress long ago on who knows what. Politicians seems to have no idea how to manage the people’s money, to which their documented spending of trillions of dollars is a testament.

With 45 million people on Social Security and many more to come, the simplest solution is to end this Ponzi scheme. I defy any Social Security recipient to reject a payoff in a deal to end this program. It would be a heck of a lot cheaper going forward than Congress demagoguing year after year about trying to find a fix.
